About Us

We are a Volunteer Fire Company located in Dryden, NY providing fire/rescue and ambulance serivce to Dryden and surrounding communities.

We are located in the heart of the New York State Fingerlakes Region. Its is a small village located on NY state Route 13 between the cities of Cortland and Ithaca. We provide Fire protection for a large portion of Tompkins county.

Our organization is 100% Volunteer. We dedicate many hours to the cause of keeping our community safe. Our core group of active volunteer firefighters is approximately 40 consisting of business owners, teachers. Others are blue & white collar workers, others are retired. We all share a love to volunteer and the dedication to make a difference in our community.

Today the we respond to almost 300 emergencies a year. It makes us one of the busiest volunteer fire departments in Tompkins County. We have and maintain some of the most state of art fire apparatus and emergency equipment in central New York. Our station houses 2 engines, a 2000 gallon tanker, a heavy rescue, an aerial truck with an 85 foot ladder, a brush utility vehicle, and an emergency all-terrain gator. The replacement cost of this equipment is in excess of millions of dollars.

Our Fire fighting and rescue services are provided to the Village and Town of Dryden by contract arrangement. We also provide mutual aide to surrounding agencies and anyone in need of assistance. The rescue services we perform are broad. Among them are our FAST Team, Vehicle Extrication, and Water Rescue.
