Tompkins County is using SwiftReach’s mass notification system to alert county residents during public safety emergencies.  The Village of Dryden will use the system to send Village residents non-emergency notifications, such as water main information, road paving, road closures dues to accidents.  Landlines (home phones) are automatically uploaded, but if you would like to register your cell phones or email addresses for notifications, please contact the Village Clerk (villageclerk@dryden-ny.org, 844-8122) for a form to fill out and return.

Proposal to Allow Chickens in the Village

A number of residents have expressed an interest in raising a small number of chickens for their fresh eggs. No roosters would be allowed. Trumansburg, Freeville and Ithaca are some local communities that allow this. There have been no complaints.  Click on the link below to see the proposed ordinance, following the one used in the Village of Freeville for more details.  The Village Board is also interested in your opinion about this proposal, please contact the Village Clerk (villageclerk@dryden-ny.org, 844-8122) for a form to fill out and return.
