Planning Board Vacancy Announcement

March 6, 2024

The Village of Dryden has three vacancies on its Planning Board. Planning Board members meet monthly to review site plans for all industrial, commercial, multi-residence housing projects, and planned development areas in the Village. The Planning Board may also recommend changes in the Village’s zoning and land-use regulations to the Village Board of Trustees. The Planning Board is assisted in its duties by the Village Code Enforcement Officer. Essentially, Planning Board decisions shape the built environment of the Village for years to come.

Planning Board members serve for five-year terms and receive an annual stipend of $360. While some planning board members have a professional background in construction, engineering, planning, or architecture, planning board members are only required to be willing to study proposals brought to them and determine whether they meet the Village’s rules and regulations. Planning board members are required by the State of New York to enroll in four hours of board training each year.

Planning Board members are appointed by the Mayor of Dryden and must be approved by the Village Board of Trustees. Interested applicants should send a letter of interest either by email to: Villageclerk@Dryden-ny.org or by mail to: Mayor Michael Murphy, Village of Dryden, 16 South Street, PO Box 820, Dryden, NY 13053. Applications will be accepted until all vacancies are filled.
