Water & Sewer

Remote-Read Water Meters

The Department of Public Works continues in its efforts to change all water meters to remote read meters. If you do not have a remote read meter you can contact the Village Clerk’s Office to schedule an appointment to have one installed.

Water Meter Readings and Billings

Water & Sewer billing is done on a quarterly basis. All property owners who do not currently have a new remote read water meter are required to read their own water meter for billing purposes. A self addressed stamped Meter reading post card will be sent on approximately the following dates:

March 15th, June 15th, September 15th and December 15th

If we do not receive a water meter reading from you, an estimated bill will be generated based upon your average usage. Should you not send in a reading for three consecutive billing periods we will contact you to schedule an appointment for the Department of Public Works to read your meter. There will be an additional $25.00 fee added to your water and sewer bill for water meter reading and administrative fees. In order to detect a leak quickly it would be in your best interest to send your reading, this will avoid an estimated bill. We have had several instances where a bill was generated based upon an estimate and a leak went undetected resulting in a very high water billing when the actual reading was obtained. It is important that you keep the Department of Public Works updated regarding any mailing address changes.

Water and Sewer bills will be sent on the following dates:

January 15th, April 15th, July 15th, October 15th.

You will be given 30 days to pay your water and sewer bills without penalties. After 30 days, there is a 10% penalty. An additional 1% per month will be added each month thereafter. Should you have any questions about your water bill please call the Department of Public Works. Remember: All Water & Sewer bills are to be paid at the Village Clerk’s Office.
