| Message From The Chief |
Message From The Chief Dear Community Member; The Village of Dryden Police Department has a history of service to the community and the experience to provide for your policing needs. Police departments across the nation are adopting the idea and practice of "community policing", and ours is no exception. In fact we have been a true community police agency since 1934. It was then that the 120 residents of the Village petitioned the Village Board to hire Mr. Dewey Whitford as the first Chief of Police for the community. Today, much as it was in 1934, the mission of our department is to protect life and property and work with our citizens to reduce the fear of crime. To that end, we strive to safeguard the lives and property of citizens through the identification and apprehension of criminal offenders, conspicuous patrol, traffic control, and preventive educational programs. Now, more than ever, it is important for our citizens to recognize the need for positive interaction with their Police Department. In order for the police officers to do their job efficiently and effectively, input is needed from all members of the community. I invite you to call, write or e-mail your comments and concerns to me on any topic that is of a concern to you. The information on our web site is intended to provide you with information about the Dryden Police Department so that you may better understand and use our services. Please do not hesitate to take advantage of our services Very Truly yours, Margaret E. Ryan |
