CLERK/TREASURER'S OFFICEThe Village Clerk/Treasurer's Office maintains all public records for the Village with the exception of Police Department related materials. This office processes all receipts and payments for the Village. The Clerk/Treasurer's Office is also responsible for preparing and maintaining minutes of the various Village Boards (Trustees, Planning and Zoning), and all public notices related to these Boards PAYMENTSAll payments related to Village Taxes and Water and Sewer bills are to be paid at the Village Clerk's Office. A Payment Drop Box is located outside the building's South Street entrance for the deposit of any after hour payments. For current rates see utility payments. LEGAL NOTICESAll legal notices pertaining to the Village of Dryden are published in the Ithaca Journal. LOCAL LAWSLocal laws are available at the Clerk's Office. TOMPKINS CONSOLIDATED AREA TRANSIT-TCATTCAT offers bus services from Dryden to Ithaca and surrounding areas several times per day. Bus Passes may be purchased at the Dryden Village Hall. Bus schedules and maps are also available at the Village Hall. TRASH PICK-UPThursday is trash pick up day in the Village. Your trash should be placed at the curb by 6:00 A.M. on Thursday for pick up. Trash tags must be placed on your trash bag prior to pick up. Trash tags may be purchased at the Express Mart (Mobil) and Extra Mart (Sunoco), and the Village Clerk's Office. As of June 1, 2007 the cost to purchase a sheet of twelve trash tags is $14.50. This price will remain in effect until June 1, 2008. The trash hauler is Superior. The Village also has curbside recycling. Recycling is done Thursdays on a biweekly basis. In the event a holiday falls during the week of recycling, the recycling will be on Friday for that week only. Here is a list of some of the everyday items that may be placed in your bin; newspapers, glossy inserts and magazine, clean corrugated boxes, opened mail, fax papers, folders, phone books, glass bottles and jars, metal cans and aluminum foil, plastic bottles and jugs, #1 & #2 narrow-necked household bottles and jugs, milk and juice cartons. Each property location was supplied with a green bin for recycling. If you do not have a bin or if you have any problems with your recycling, you should call the Tompkins County Solid Waste at 273-6632 or 273-5700. |
